Dr. Anna Makhorkina

Dr. Anna Makhorkina is the Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant Professor at the Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy at Old Dominion University. With over 20 years of experience in academia and public service, she specializes in student academic success, higher education administration, policy development, governmental affairs, and international affairs.

Dr. Makhorkina holds a Ph.D. in International Studies from ODU and has taught courses in International Politics, European politics, and Political Economy since 2008. She also holds a Master's in International Studies from ODU and a Specialist Diploma in International Relations and Translation from Lviv State University in Ukraine. 

She has held leadership roles at ODU, including Associate Director for Transfer Initiatives and Associate Director of the ODU Higher Education Regional Centers. Dr. Makhorkina is active in the community, serving as President of the Tidewater Ukrainian Cultural Association, Virginia State Liaison for the American Coalition for Ukraine, Board Member of the World Affairs Council of Hampton Roads, and Virginia Advisory Committee Member for the Unites States Global Leadership Coalition.
